For the second time, a multiplier event presenting the results of the project “Di-struct! – Restructuring subjects by digitalising VET” project took place in the closing phase of the project. The event was hosted on 15 April 2025 by MDOE together with its strategic partner Újpesti Bilingual Technical College, which is actively involved in the implementation of the project. Eleven teachers and trainers of the HVET school participated in the event and were led by Szilvia Hegyiné Závori, who is responsible for the Erasmus programmes and internationalisation of the school, and Tibor Dőri, President of the Hungarian Association for Digital Education.
The event started with a brief presentation of the project’s objectives, followed by a presentation of the experiences of the two trainers involved in the development of the digitally enhanced learning unit. The two teachers shared not only their experiences with the content digitalisation, but also their experiences with the classroom pilots of the two learning units and the feedback they received from the students during the pilot. The two learning units are:
- Practice in 3D engineering design software systems
- Foundations of machine engineering
An open professional discussion was followed on the usefulness of using digital tools in the classroom teaching and home learning, where the participating teachers listened with great interest to the model used for curriculum development by the two teachers and had a frank discussion on its applicability and usefulness in the classroom teaching and the individual home learning. Particular attention was paid to EdTech tools to support prior and post knowledge assessment, development of the prior interest and engagement of learners and the applicability of Flipped classroom technique in vocational education and training. They also highlighted the usefulness of different EdTech tools in VET education, taking into account the increasing popularity of AI in education and the negative effects of digital tools on mental health.
During the event, participants logged in to the MOOC courses that were developed as a result of the project, reviewed and downloaded the project’s recommendations for VET trainers and educators, as well as the learning units that have been developed by the partners, were presented. The event was found to be very useful and informative by the participants.
The participants stated that they would like to use the presented model for the digital enrichment of their own lessons and that they would like to participate in the knowledge sharing within the school in the future also.
